When taking damage while wearing this amulet, you may use your reaction to gain resistance to that damage. The amulet gains an amount of charges equal to the damage prevented in this way.
At any time, you may use an action to spend charges from the amulet. The amulet deals psychic damage to you equal to the number of charges spent. This damage cannot be prevented or resisted in any way, short of a wish.
At the end of a long rest, or when the amulet is removed, if there are any charges remaining in the amulet, they are all expended and deal damage as above.
