Weapon (dagger), rare (requires attunement)

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When thrown, this weapon has a range of 20/60 feet. If thrown as part of a ranged weapon attack that misses, it lands on a spot of the DM's discretion.

This dagger has three sockets along its blunt reverse edge. As a bonus action, an attuned wielder of this weapon can speak a command word and activate one of the gems inserted into this dagger, consuming the gem and casting the prescribed spell with no further components:

  • Ruby: you cast Fireball as a 3rd-level spell centered on the dagger. The DC for this spell is 15.
  • Sapphire: you stab yourself with the dagger (suffering 1d6+1 piercing damage) and cast Armor of Agathys on yourself as a 3rd-level spell.
  • Amethyst: you stab yourself with the dagger (suffering 1d6+1 piercing damage) and become invisible until the end of your next turn, you make a damage roll, or you force someone to make a saving throw.
  • Onyx: you cast silence and darkness centered on the dagger.
  • Diamond: you cast daylight centered on the dagger.

An attuned wielder of this weapon can complete a ritual to insert a gem worth at least 100 gp into one of these sockets or to replace an existing gem. Doing so takes one hour and requires a successful DC17 Arcana check, otherwise the gem is destroyed as part of the ritual.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Finesse, Light, Thrown, Nick
