Ferric Duskclaimer, a then-famous Earth Genasi Oathbreaker Paladin during the Essence Wars appoximately 2700 years ago. His personal crusade of dominating wild elementals was cut short by Giana, a Tempest Cleric of the Empyrean Clerics, during battle at Athsvale in northern Epsilone. At the moment he was cut down, the Empyreans cursed his soul into a suit of plate armor, and hid it away in the coffers of Juer, doomed to exist in darkness forever. At the end of the Essence Wars, 700 years later, during the sacking of Juer, Ferric was taken from the coffers by an opportunist human named Lawson Vangelis and the legend of Ferric Duskclaimer was lost.
Sentience. Ferric Duskclaimer is a sentient, lawful evil armor with an intelligence of 14, a Wisdom of 14 and a Charisma of 16. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 60 ft. The armor can understand common and primordial and can communicate with anyone who is attuned and wearing it. Whilst attuned to it, Ferric Duskclaimer also understands every language you know.
Rust Metal. Any nonmagical weapon made of metal that hits Ferric corrodes. After dealing damage, the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to Damage Rolls. If its penalty drops to -5, the weapon is destroyed.
Sadistic Evolution. The more damage that Ferric takes during a period of long rest, the armor will take on additional traits.
Curse. Once you don this cursed, sentient armor, you can't doff it unless you are targeted by the remove curse spell or similar magic. While wearing the armor, you have advantage on attack rolles against Elementals and on saving throws against their spells and special abilities.
Personality. Ferric is disparaging, impatient and cold and enjoys being hit, reveling in the pain like a masochist. He wishes to see the world and complete his quest to destroy the Elder Elementals.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
