An arrow of preemptive action gains a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this piece of magic ammunition.
In addition, the arrow of preemptive action can be fired at the beginning of the round using your reaction (including the first round of combat). If you’re able to make multiple attacks with the Attack action, you may fire an equal number of arrows of preemptive action as part of this reaction.
Once the arrow hits a target, the ammunition is no longer magical.

Posted Aug 10, 2020There were 3 design considerations where i wavered a bit as i designed this magic arrow.
Mechanically, it grants any bow user a "single-use" Fighter Action surge. (assuming they have enough magic arrows for each of their attacks).
However, it is also a bit more powerful than the straight Action surge, in that it allows the extra attacks to be taken at the beginning of the round.
Presumably, this would make it useful/beneficial for a character, even if they were a fighter that already had action surge.
