This elaborately designed golden goblet is cool to the touch with its rim embedded with nine identical red diamonds. The creator and first possessor of this item was one of the most wealthy, successful, and ambitious merchants who lived during the Age of Arcanum whose name has been lost within the annals of history.
[Dormant] The Avarice Goblet grants the following benefits in its dormant state:
- As an action, you can speak a command word and cause the goblet to fill with red liquid that smells and tastes delectable. The liquid can swirl and slosh but is unable to leave the goblet this way. A creature in possession of the goblet while the red liquid is present can use its action to drink all of it and regain hit points equal to 4d4 + 4. If the red liquid is not consumed within one hour of its creation, it loses its potency and is unable to heal. This property can't be used again until the next dawn.
- While holding the goblet, you have a keen eye for material wealth, giving you advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) and Wisdom (Perception) checks made to determine an object's quality, as well as its monetary value measured in gold pieces.
[Awakened] When the Avarice Goblet reaches an awakened state, it gains the following properties:
- The amount of hit points a creature regains when they drink of the red liquid is now increased to to 4d6 + 6.
- Your Charisma score becomes 22 if it isn't already 22 or higher.
- While holding the goblet, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells from it: Greater Restoration, Lesser Restoration, Locate Object, or Tongues. Once a spell has been cast using the goblet, it can't be used to cast that spell again until the next dawn.
[Exalted] When the Avarice Goblet reaches an exalted state, it gains the following properties
- The amount of hit points regained from drinking the red liquid of the goblet also increases the creature's hit point maximum by the same amount until they finish a long rest.
- While holding the goblet, you can use an action to cast one of the following spells from it: Heroes' Feast, Planar Ally, or True Seeing. Once a spell has been cast using the goblet, it can't be used to cast that spell again until the next dawn.
