Weapon (glaive), artifact (requires attunement by a An oath to never willingly kill any living creature.)

The Ashandarei is a long, black-hafted spear with a two-foot-long sword blade in place of a spear point that is slightly curved and single-edged.  The haft is adorned with Elven and Eldaari symbols as well as two ravens in flight.

Inscription

(in Celestial language)

"Thus is our oath written; thus is our agreement made.

Memory is the blade of time; thus our love will never fade.

What is asked is freely given. By this, our union is wholly made.”

Damage.

  • 1d10 slashing damage
  • It can also be used as a spell focus.

Spiritual Blindness. This weapon cannot reduce a creature to 0 hit points. If a damage roll made with the weapon would normally reduce another creature to 0 hit points, that creature is instead reduced to 1 hit point.  If the wielder attempts to damage a creature with less than 12 hit points—even with a different weapon or spell—extreme nausea (disadvantage) will occur.  If attempted again, the wielder will fall unconscious.

Once Attuned:

Note: This glaive is bound by draconic geas (not same as attunment) to the spiritual DNA (sDNA) of the Eldaar, Vasherion “Vasher” Warbreaker.

This weapon is attuned by physically touching its haft and making an oath, with Intent, to never willing kill a living creature.  Cannot be attuned by more than one person.  Can only be unattuned via the Remove Curse spell, the Wish spell, or breaking the oath. (Cannot be attuned again once the oath is broken.)

Damage.

  • Character Level 4-8: +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
  • Character Level 9-13: +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls; unnaturally light (becomes a Thrown weapon)
  • Character Level 14-20: +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls; unnaturally well-balanced (becomes a Finesse weapon)

War Breaker.  Your first attack each day/sunrise and after a long rest is always a critical hit.

Memory Keeper. This glaive is an ‘unsealed’ feruchemical metalmind with an adamantine core that stores memories (visual/emotional/cinematic scenes vs. knowledge).  This feature can be used--store or tap memories--by anyone attuned to the weapon or at any time by a full feruchemist.

Bend Causality. When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction to roll 1d4 (at character level 4-12) or 2d4 (at character level 13-20) and apply the number rolled as a bonus or penalty (your choice) to that creature's roll. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects of the roll occur.

Fortune's Fool. When you roll a 1 on the d20 for an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll (even if it is a 1).

Prince of Ravens. At character level 12-20, the glaive bonds with its wielder’s sDNA. You can use a bonus action to toss this glaive into the air and speak/think, with Intent, the Command. When you do so, the glaive begins to hover, flies up to 30 feet, and attacks one creature of your choice within 5 feet of it. It uses your attack roll and ability score modifier to damage rolls.  Afterwards, it flies back to your hand or falls to the ground if obstructed or your hand is unavailable.

Proficiency with a Glaive allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
