This white fur cloak is made from the pelt of a winter wolf. As an action, you may call upon the magical essence of the cloak. It will then envelop your body and transform you into a winter wolf for up to 1 hour. This functions similarly to a polymorph spell. You may use a bonus action to return to your natural form.
After the 1st time you use the cloak to transform, your eye color will change and glow blue. You gain Dark Vision up to 60 feet.
After the 3rd use of the cloak, your hair will turn white and body hair will thicken. You gain resistance to cold damage. If you do not have any hair, you will develop it.
After the 5th use of the cloak, your senses are heightened as your ears grow large and pointed. As well, your face protrudes more forward and nose darkens and reshapes to a more canine appearance. You gain advantage on all Wisdom (perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.
After the 6th use of the cloak, you gain two charges of Cold Breath. Once expended, the only way to gain the charges back is after using the cloak again.
Cold Breath (2 charges). Using your action, you exhale a blast of freezing wind in a 15-foot cone. Using your current spell DC, each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d8 cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
For Player (once attuned)
The spiritual essence of the winter wolf remains connected to the cloak. Once attuned, that spiritual entity attaches itself to you. As a result, you feel as if a presence is stalking you. You grow incredibly uncomfortable in hot places and will impulsively want to remove any warm clothing being worn. However you are unable to part with the cloak, keeping it with you at all times.
You will not suffer any negative effects or points of exhaustion due to freezing temperatures.
For Dungeon Master

The prey can either be an animal or someone the character is close to; be it friend, relative, or party member. While adventuring, the hallucinations become stronger. In addition to the howling, the character will occasionally see a ghostly winter wolf stalking them from a distance but not seen by anyone else. The character may also hear a voice in their head, tempting them to use the cloak again.
Cloak uses 6+ : The sixth time you use the cloak, and each time thereafter, the character must make a DC 15 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the transformation lasts until dispelled or until the character drops to 0 hit points, and the character can’t willingly return to normal form. If the character ever remain in winter wolf form for 6 hours, the transformation becomes permanent and the character loses their sense of self. All their statistics are then replaced by those of a winter wolf. Thereafter, only remove curse or similar magic allows the character to regain their identity and return to normal.
