This palm-sized medallion is made of almost pure residuum. The green glass begins to glow whenever magic is pushed through it. This magical focus gives a +1 to all spell attack rolls and increases the user's spell save DC by 1.
Overcharge. The residuum, as part of its natural properties, retains a small amount of magical energy cast into it every time it is used. This medallion can be used to safely cast up to 6 total spell levels per short rest. If 7 or more total spell levels are cast using this focus, the cast must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or take 1d10 force damage for each spell level over 6. If more than 12 total spell levels are used, the residuum overheats. Roll a d10. On a 1, the amulet explodes in a fireball spell (DC 15) centered on the caster. When this happens, the amulet is destroyed beyond repair. On a 2-10, the amulet is drained of all magic and becomes a regular magical focus until the next long rest.
