Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a Barbarian with ties to the ocean.)

One of the anchors from the Flying Dutchman herself. It was detached during a great navel battle and sank into the Abyss. Centuries later it is carried into a Sahuagin Den and revered as a treasure of the sea gods.

This anchor can be used as a magic melee weapon by a Barbarian with ties to the ocean and they make any attack rolls with proficiency. It has a range of 5ft and deals 2d4 Piercing damage, it has the Properties; Heavy and Versatile (2d6).

To Attune to this object you must lash it to your body with chains and sit fully submerged in the ocean for 2 hours. When the process completes both the Anchor and the chains turn semi-spectral and emit a watery, green, ghost-like aura if viewed with magic sight. The chains will now always remain in place until your attunement ends but do not impede your actions or equipment in any way. The anchor now gains its magical properties:

  • +1 to your Strength, Dexterity and Constitution scores.
  • +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
  • The Reach property.
  • When swung with two hands any attack that lands causes an extra 1d4 Thunder damage and forces the target to make a Con save (DC 17) or be knocked prone.
  • While underwater your walking speed and swimming speeds are increased by 10ft and the first attack you make each round has advantage.
  • Twice per long rest you may use an action to cast the Meteor Swarm spell with Thunder damage in place of the Fire and instead of igniting flammable objects anything not bolted down is knocked flying 20ft from the center of impact and are knocked prone or stumble 10ft away if they succeed the Dexterity save. The DC for the spell is 19 and you may cast it even when in your Rage. If the impact zone is underwater the damage is halved but the Radius increases to 60ft.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Bonus: Strength Score, Bonus: Dexterity Score, Bonus: Constitution Score, Damage: Piercing, Weapon Property: Heavy, Weapon Property: Reach, Weapon Property: Versatile, Damage: Thunder, Advantage: Melee Attacks, Barbarian with ties to the ocean.
