This box contains a set of parchment, throwing cards. A full deck has 54 cards (Traditional Playing Card Set).
Attunement requires a proficiency with Playing Card Sets.
Attuning with this item allows it to be used as an arcane focus. Attuning in this way requires you to attribute a spell to each card (each spell can be attributed to multiple cards). In order to cast most spells or cantrips, you must draw from the deck, and choose to cast the spell. Casting the spell results in the card disappearing from the deck. If you choose not to cast the spell, you may put it back, or throw it (using the Dart statistics). Whether casting, throwing, or replacing the card, this counts as your action.
Throwing a card uses the Dart statistics (PHB 149), however to add proficiency to it requires proficiency in Playing Card Sets, not Darts.
Collecting replacement cards and adding them to the deck automatically infuses that card with the magic of the deck.
Changing the spells associated with the cards can be done by spending another hour with the deck. This can be done during either a short rest or a long rest, however the character must be awake and not in Trance for the duration.
Notes: by a character with proficiency in Playing Card Sets and a Spellcaster, Utility, Combat, Consumable
