A complex dial of interlocking circular disks. Attempting to turn one disk causes all of them to move in strange complicated patterns. Tiny runes are located on the disks depicting all kinds of things - arrows, stick figures, letters, numbers, outlines of various animals/fish, sun, moon, and constellations, trees, bugs, geometric shapes, skull and cross bones, etc...

Any creature can spend 10 minutes to attempt to ask a question by rotating the disks to align a series of symbols. The creature must succeed on an Intelligence check (DC = 10 for 2 symbols and increases by 5 for each symbol beyond 2) to align the symbols. On a success the device will rotate on its own to indicate a set of symbols giving an answer to the question.

Once used successfully, or after 3 failed attempts, it cannot be used again until you finish a long rest.
