Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a The wearer must study each new track for 5 minutes before being able to use it as a "Faux Track.")

History: Commissioned by the feared black-ops guild "il Farim" (pronounced "ill Fareem") and crafted by several different makers over the years: These soft tall leather boots are specially designed, and magically enhanced to give il Farim a distinct advantage with a number of important skills.

Description: The boots are tall soft leather to the touch, but are magically fortified to protect the wearer as well as provide enhancement to several important abilities and skills.

The Boots offer:

+1 to AC

Appearance: The boots have a limited effect like "Alter Self" where the boots can appear to be a completely different pair of boots.  This can be done at will, and will last 24 hours, or until 3:33 am local time.  At which time the effect resets briefly to reveal the midnight blue / black coloration.

Skill Modifiers: Advantage to stealth, acrobatics, climbing, and survival checks 2/day each.

Attribute: The boots never make a sound, even on purpose.  Creaking boards, floors, squeaky surfaces and so on, are all silent under these boots.

Modes of Use: These boots have 3 tracking modes OTHER THAN normal:

1) Backwards:  The tracks leave prints that are backwards

2) Vanishing: They leave no prints at all or the prints stop being made upon command

3) Faux Track:  The boots will leave the tracks of anything M or S sized that the wearer has seen.  (Seen the tracks).  To learn a new track the wearer must study the tracks for 5 minutes.  Once studied, and entered into the list of available Faux Tracks, the wearer will always be able to make them, providing a use is still available that day.

It IS possible to mix and match all three modes as desired.  But each mode has only 2 uses per day and they reset at 3:33 am local time.  

"Uses" of each mode of use last for 1 turn plus for every character level of the user.

+2 Version

The +2 Version is identical to the +1 Version except:

1) There are two heal stomp activated (again silent stomp), toe knives, equivalent to a +1 dagger 

Cost 17,500 Gold & Rarity = Legendary

+3 Version

The +3 Version is identical to the +2 Version except:

1) There is a pull cord activated set of pole climbing spikes that add +3 to all climbing checks (plus the already existing advantage).  

2) The spikes CAN be used as +1 Daggers like the toe knives if needed.

Cost 39,500 Gold & Rarity = Legendary

+4 Version

The +4 Version is Identical to the +2 Version except:

1) There are crampons that can be activated by a sweeping lever on the inside arch of the sole of the boot.  The Crampons allow the wearer to walk on slippery surfaces as if they were normal terrain.  Additionally the climbing bonus is increased to +5 (with Advantage)

2) The Crampons add +3 to damage when using the climbing spikes as weapons.

Cost 104,500 Gold & Rarity = Legendary

+5 Version

The +5 Version is identical to the +4 Version except:

1) The souls are imbued with a spell called "Assassin's Step" which does three things:

a) The wearer gains +10' movement

b) Allows the wearer to disengage at will

c) nullifies all terrain movement multipliers (difficult terrain has no effect)

Cost 425,500 Gold & Rarity = Legendary
