History: The history of these arrows is uncertain. The arrow of return may have had many authors over the centuries. Many claim it was the first elves who made these initially. However other sources of these useful arrows are said to exist. Still they are Very Rare. Perhaps that's because those who own them are slow to relinquish them willingly.
Description: This razor sharp broad headed thin shafted arrow is longer than a typical arrow by as much as 20%. Its flites are made from Falcon feathers. A thin wire of Mithril is wrapped about the shaft for a few inches of the shafts length 3 inches aft of the arrow head.
USE: The Arrow of Returning does just that. Hit or miss, the arrow always returns. If it hits, it (the arrow) must spend one action to return. It will remove itself instantly from the target, and return to the archer or his / her quiver (Archer’s choice). The range that the arrow will travel is that of a longbow at a minimum, and longer if the archer or bow are capable of longer distances.
The Arrow is +1 to hit and +1 to damage (1d8+1 Piercing)
If fired from a Longbow or a Magical Bow (1d10+1 Piercing)
If the Bow is Magical & a Longbow (1d12+1 Piercing)
Notes: Damage: Piercing, Damage: Piercing, Damage: Piercing, Damage, Control, Buff, Movement, Utility, Combat, Consumable, Negates Difficult Terrain
