Weapon (longsword), artifact (requires attunement)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, the weapon ignores resistance to slashing damage.

When you attack a creature or object with a soul within with this weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, the sword absorbs the soul. The creature who's soul it is is immediately killed, unless they can survive without their soul, and if they can, they take 6d8 necrotic damage. This item gains a number of charges equal to the challenge rating/level of the creature. The same process occurs when you kill a creature with the sword when you don't roll a 20 on the attack roll. You may spend two charges to gain 20 hit points back as an action, and you may spend two charges to deal an extra 1d8 necrotic damage after hitting creature with an attack, once per attack.

Additionally, whenever you hit an immortal being with this magic weapon (such as a god or avatar) with the weapon, their soul is immediately absorbed, and they die. The sword gains additional powers according to what the domain of the god/avatar was (up to the DM's discretion).

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
