Apocalypto

The Apocalypto describes the vision of the supposed ends of the multiverse by an unknown author. If a creature wants to read the Apocalypto they first have to inspect it and have to attune to it. As it is written in an old dialect of the present language the attunement requires a successful DC 13 Intelligence (History) check. The creature can choose to do this while finishing a short rest. If the check fails the creature can spend another short rest to try again.

When attuned the creature can read the pages of the Apocalypto while other creatures that try to read the book will only see blank pages. If the creature dies another creature can try to attune to the book provided they fullfill the requirements.

• The creature can also choose to un-read the book (no action required). If the creature chooses to do so they will instantly loose the attunement to the book and forget everything they read in it. The creature does however remember that they read the book and why they chose to forget the content.
• The creature can choose to share their knowledge about the book. However, the book knows when his knowledge is shared and notes will vanish as soon as they are written. If the creature wants to tell other creatures about the content of the book they first have to make a succesfull DC 25 Charisma (Persuasion) check as the book won't share his knowledge lightly. If the creatuer forgets about the content of the book (i.e. by losing the attunement) so will every creature they told about it.
• The book cannot be destroyed by any means, magical or not as there was a Wish spell cast on it. The only way for the Apocalypto to be destroyed is for the attuned person to speak the wish out for it (no further wish spell required). Destroying the book will automaticly erase every memory of the book.
• If the book gets wet, burned to ashes or otherwise damaged it will reconstruct itself after 10 minutes.
• While the book and the creature are on the same plane of existence the creature can use a bonus action to materialize the book in his hands.
• The book is guarded by a light aura of divination magic so that it is not possible for the attuned creature to be possessed while holding the book in their hands.

The pages of the book are in constant flux as it still depicts the visions of the author. As a prophecy gets more and more probable it gets easier to read about it in the book.
