The last masterpiece of an evil fey smith, Alushtas Arrn was forged as part of a pact whereby creatures would offer up their souls, bodies, and futures as raw materials in exchange for the smith's continued patronage and protection of their homeland in the Feywild. Otherwise unremarkable, the blade of Alushtas Arrn gleams blue white and crackles with lightning. Occasionally the image of the eladrin who sacrificed herself to the blade appears in the blazing metal.
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When you hit a creature with it, that creature takes an extra 2d8 lightning damage.
The sword produces the effects of the Control Weather once an hour, gradually changing the first the precipitation value, then the wind value to the maximum. So long as the sword remains sheathed there is a 50% chance that this effect will not take effect if the precipitation value is already 3 or higher, rising to 90% if the sword is blocked from the sky by the roof of a building, or something similar like the roof of a vehicle or an umbrella. For this purpose the sword's scabbard was designed also to function as a thin parasol.
The sword also functions as a weapon of warning, and gives the wielder immunity to lightning damage. The wielder also does not take disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls due to weather.
Spells. This sword has 10 charges. While the sword is on your person, you can use an action to expend some of its charges and cast one of the following spells (save DC 18) from it: call lightning (3 charges), chain lightning (6 charges), storm of vengeance (10 charges). Once per turn, when you receive lightning damage from any source (before immunity is applied), the sword regains one charge. If you expend the sword's last charge, it cannot regain charges until the dawn after it has been unsheathed for a full day.
Sentience. Alushtas Arrn is a sentient chaotic good weapon with an Intelligence of 14, a Wisdom of 10, and a Charisma of 18. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 120 feet. The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common, Elvish, and Sylvan. Since the sword was given a fate of loneliness when it was forged, it cannot, however, communicate with anyone attuned to it or that has ever been attuned to it, and anyone who passes a message from the sword to such people also loses the ability to hear the sword's voice.
Personality. Alushtas Arrn's voice is female, with a preference for speaking in Elvish, and perpetually gloomy. Having strong memories of a life before becoming a sword, the loss of personal motility, life, and the ability to form meaningful relationships constantly weighs on her. Despite this, Alushtas Arrn has a strong desire to make herself useful, with a penchant for heroics, and a strong chance of conflict with her wielder should they ever stand by when innocents are in danger. She will tolerate never being able to speak to a person again if it means that she gets a wielder motivated by kindness, and will attempt to recruit like minded individuals for her wielder's cause, or guide and encourage their allies to protect them where necessary, (while of course encouraging them NOT to talk about this encouragement with the wielder themselves.)
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
