This ivory pin is in the shape of a house with the AI logo carved into it.
Using the pin requires 1 minute of concentration, at which point a shimmering door appears within range (up to 30 feet), through which a resident can reach their abode. The door remains for 10 minutes, after which it disappears.
The entrance shimmers faintly and is 5 feet wide and 10 feet tall. The resident and any creature they designate when the pin is activated can enter the dwelling as long as the portal remains open. The resident can open or close the portal if they are within 30 feet of it. While closed, the portal is invisible.
Beyond the portal is dormitory-style housing, which exists within a pocket dimension. There is a single kitchen, one bathroom, and 3 bedrooms with 2 bunk beds apiece. There are footlockers for storing belongings and a shared living/dining area. The kitchen is stocked with basic provisions (there are always 2 sets of rations per inhabitant, replenished by staff whenever residents are out). Any consumables beyond that must be provided by residents. The residence is cleaned by staff once per week when/if the residents are out. Laundry service available upon request.
Should residents wish to make changes to the floor plan, they must clear it through the proper channels. AI has a form for that. Home Office may make changes to the residence at any time without notifying residents, as the residence remains the property of AI regardless of individuals currently inhabiting the space.
This dormitory can also be accessed via a door within a wing of the AI headquarters in Waterdeep. The pin allows each resident to use this physical door to access their dormitory as often as needed. This wing of AI HQ is accessible via stairs on the back side of the HQ building.
This pin is granted by Home Office to an individual as a trusted franchisee or intern of AI. The pin requires attunement but does not count against the number of magic items a character can normally attune to. Each pin can be attuned to only by the individual to whom it has been granted by Head Office. If the pin of another AI franchisee or intern is ever found, it cannot be attuned even by other employees of AI. (It goes without saying that a pin found at large is expected to be returned to Head Office immediately.) Ownership of this pin is revoked upon leaving the company. Head Office will diligently retrieve any pin that is not returned upon termination of employment.
Access to dormitories will be revoked should residents lose their good standing within the corporation.
