Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a cleric)

Embroided with high quality silks and inset with various gemstones and precious metals, the value of this priestly vestment is more than the sum of the materials used. On rare occurrence, clerics have been able to harness some of the skills, abilities, boons and favours of deities from outside of their natural domain. Certain items, like this chasuble, which have shown to enhance this ability have been highly prized by even the highest religious hierarchies. While attuned to this chasuble, and in good standing with your deity, a cleric is able to use their bonus action to sacrifice their channel divinity charge(s) (minimum of one) in attempting to learn an ability from a different domain. Sacrificed charges recharge on a long rest. Until you complete your long rest, you have access to (i) Turn Undead, (ii) your natural domain and (ii) the new one domain. You can only have access to one additional domain apart from your own at a time, but can sacrifice additional channel divinities in the same period to access a different domain.

Religion ability check is made on sacrificing channel divinity charge(s), with a chance to suffer various levels of madness on a failure.

Success may also depend on alignment towards the goals of that deity and their respective domain, your number of sacrificed charges, and your familiarity with the respective domain.

One domain is unlocked upon access to the chasuble for the first time (as chosen by the DM), and clerics can visit other temples, monasteries, other holy places, or followers of other domains to train and unlock access to additional domains.

Channel Divinity: While attuned to this chasuble, your base channel divinity charges are doubled. Beginning at 2 level, you can use Channel Divinity twice between rests, beginning at 6th level, you can use Channel Divinity four times between rests, and beginning at 18th level, you can use Channel Divinity six times between rests.

[Optional] Unarmoured Defence: While you are wearing this chasuble, with no armour, and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 12 + your Dexterity modifier + your Wisdom modifier.  [Note: Some spells and class features give you a different way to calculate your AC If you have multiple features that give you different ways to calculate your AC, you choose which one to use.]
