Wondrous Item, unknown rarity (requires attunement by a creature)

A magical, softball sized stone which draws its weight from an unknown demiplane. It has no noticeable features which would draw anyone's eye to it. It weighs 50 pounds for anyone not attuned to it. Once a creature has attuned to it, the stone weighs a mere 7 ounces.

The stone can be used as a weapon. If used in melee (5 ft), the stone causes 3d10 + str bludgeoning damage. If thrown (60 ft), the stone causes 5d8 + str bludgeoning damage.

Return: The command word "return" can be used to make the stone return to the creature it is attuned to. If the stone is thrown, set down, or secreted away, it will always return to the creature it is attuned to when the command word is spoken.

Hold: The command word "hold" can be used to make the stone unmovable. If the stone is set down, and the command word is spoken, the stone cannot be moved. If the stone is placed atop an item or prone creature, once the command word is spoken, the item or creature beneath the stone will be held by the stone and unable to move. If placed atop a creature or item capable of moving, (without first changing position) the item will remain where it was placed, unable to be moved except by command, once the command word is spoken.

Situational example: Trinity needed to climb down a 50 foot sheer cliff. She had the rope, but there was nothing to tie the rope to. Trinity remembered her Stone of Returning would be able to hold the rope, if she commanded it to, so she placed the stone atop one end of her rope and commanded it to hold. Trinity then lowered her rope and climbed down the cliff. Once she reached the bottom of the cliff, Trinity commanded her stone to return. Immediately the rope fell loose to the bottom of the cliff and Trinity had her stone back in her hand.

Notes: Damage: Bludgeoning, Damage: Bludgeoning, Restrained, To attune to the Stone of Returning, a creature must meditate on the stone during a short rest. While attuned to a creature, it cannot attune to any other creature. Attunement may end only by a short rest with a meditated focus to end the attunement, or by the death of the creature., creature
