The two quotes are etched into either side of the long steel column. An extremely solid shield, lightly coated in steel and magic repellant, yet collapsible, able to fit comfortably as a wrist guard. When expanded, this shield acts as though a normal shield, providing all the bonuses that provide. This shield has two bonus properties, it has the ability to block magic attacks by reducing the damage. You can do this by using any number of damage in the pool, the pool is current at 60. (one point in the pool equals one damage blocked) The other property is that the shield can be thrown as an action at a target for 2d8 damage on a successful hit, and returned as a bonus action for up to 9d6 (1d6 per ten feet) if you return it while an enemy is in front of its return path.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
