Weapon (trident), artifact (requires attunement by a decision to choose a Master, made by Alana'i itself. Should Alana'i choose a Master, the individual immediately attunes with Alana'i, bonding with it spiritually. Alana'i will never become unattuned from its Master following this, save the Master losing their life.)

With the brave sacrifice of the Divine Champion Teculor Mekrish, Alana'i's power has surged to even greater heights than previously imagined - consecrating the permanence and will of the vast open sea with the relentless maelstrom of a devout warrior's soul.

Left Gem Slot: Kona'lumi's Passionate Flame

- You cannot be engulfed in flames, harmed by fire (both magical and non-magical) or experience damage over time effects from heat or fire.

- Allows the spell, "Control Water" to be cast at will, with 3 charges each day

*(Proficiency with a trident allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it as well.)

Middle Gem slot: Shell of a Beloved Friend

- +3 bonus to your AC

- Your strikes leave a cerulean trail behind them, causing a brief flash of bright light. On a critical hit, this light becomes blinding and the creature struck by your attack must make a DC 15 CON save or be blinded until the start of their next turn.

- The water from the Shell of a Beloved Friend is holy, therefore undead creatures who come into contact with the holy waters of this divine instrument take an immediate 3d6 radiant damage.

- You cannot be surprised or caught off guard

- Whenever you are afflicted with Disadvantage of any kind you may roll a d20, on an odd roll you do not suffer Disadvantage. Upon an even roll you are still afflicted with Disadvantage. If the roll is a 3 you are blessed with Advantage instead.

- Once per dawn you can call upon the light of Rova Shir to cast the spell Plane Shift upon yourself and up to 8 willing creatures to transport to Ekolu and back to whatever plane you were on previously.

Right Gem Slot: Tears of Golden Light

- You gain the ability to use Alana'i as a focus to cast the Water Walk spell at will.

A mighty Trident of Rova Shir, Alana'i is a legendary weapon forged beyond the Divine Gate within Rova Shir's heavenly realms - crafted by the greatest of the Divine Forgemasters and given the breath of life itself. Legend has it that long, long ago its purpose was to be the very bane of Vekna's presence and that no amount of darkness could ever pierce its blinding light of purity and protection when wielded by its Master - a chosen Champion of Rova Shir who's destiny was intertwined with that of the turn of the Ages.

Over time the epic feats of this indominable glaive have become entwined with folk tales, stories of grandeur and bardic inspirational musings throughout The Great Wheel. Only in times of desperation does this holiest of holy weapons return to the world like a dear friend risking all to save his beloved. It is this very will that guides the hands of its Champion to smite evil wherever it dares to lurch its insatiable maw. Numerous threads of soul stitch it together, the hopes and dreams of all life resonate deep within its divine heart.

Yet one thread now binds them all together more taught than ever before: a divine creature, one who himself wielded this mighty trident in an age long past now inhabits the very core of his instrument of light. Willingly, he relinquished his eternal life for the sake of his beloved friend in order to give the world a future. In spite of this, it has taken upon this divine creature's likeness - an eternal companion to his Champion, a bond forged beneath the harshest waves that is now imbued with the Heart of the Sea, and the Keeper of the Tides.

The wicked tremble in its presence. Evil is powerless against it. Darkness abandons all hope upon hearing the name:

Alana'i.

Heart of the Sea

Long ago, in an age forgotten by man and divine alike, the Primordial Essence of The Great Wheel birthed forth several Elements that filled the infinite void. This harbinger of the ancients in turn defined balance itself, in which two brothers, known as Chaos and Order had been given both the blessing of existence, and the curse of inevitability. Their duality and infinite conflict would leave scars upon The Great Wheel eon after eon, eventually giving rise to the first of the mortal planes and giving it form.

From this Mortal Coil, many more planes would be molded in likeness to the Primordial Essence, and would eventually find their true purpose as part of the whole. Slowly, these planes danced amongst themselves to a never-ending melody composed by the Elements that made them. Fire. Water. Earth. Air. Light. Dark. Energy. And the youngest of these, Soul.

At the heart of the Elements lies a power so vast and incomprehensible that not even the divines could resist bending to its will. Since the dawn of the Primordial Essence, each Element has jealously guarded their hearts with absolute vehemence, for many have tried to usurp them and claim their infinite power for their own; each having been felled by their own arrogance time after time.

And yet...

One Element took a step towards communion that none dared to believe. Having bore witness to the searing pain of both Mortals and Divines alike due to the endless conflict of her brothers Chaos and Order, she sought a different path. Removing her own heart, she allowed herself to be shared by all to provide comfort, life, and respite to every last creature of The Great Wheel. This relationship did not come without a price however, for the Element of Water had allowed herself to become tainted by the impurities of nature itself.

Regardless of this, her will remained unbroken and her heart pressed on unabated, to bring about the comfort she wished to provide for every last creature, of whom she adored. The creatures of The Great Wheel clung to her presence for survival, and in turn worshiped and praised her as the True Goddess for all she had done for them. As she communed with them, she bestowed upon them all of her blessings, relenting not in the slightest, regardless of whatever evils the creatures harbored inside their hearts.

The Great Lady of Water's presence flowed freely through every last plane of The Great Wheel, eventually being given the heralded name, "Styx" meaning, "life" in the ancient language of the Divines. As time flowed on, so did the Lady of Water, as her form began to take many shapes and sizes throughout The Great Wheel. To some, she was the sea that provided passage to new worlds. To others, she was a river, of which civilizations clung to and blossomed. And to another, she came as cooling rains, providing food and nutrients in abundance for all.

Her power was great, even after abandoning her own heart in spite of her boundless love, and today her power courses through every single creature with breath in their lungs. A lesson that will stand the test of time and to be learned by all, should one wish to embrace her heart in even the smallest of ways.

Those who have all share one thing in common: a heart like hers, whose love and determination know no bounds.

Tidekeeper

Forged from molten sea glass near his home island off the coast of Kekai, Tidekeeper was Teculor's most prized work in his collection. As a master glassblower and weaponsmith, he upheld the long-standing tradition of sea glass craftsmanship kept by his people, the humble Tortle race. After becoming Rova Shir's Champion near the end of the 3rd Age, it has since become exalted, boasting powerful enchantments and mastery over the very sea from which its glass was formed.

Eventually, Teculor's fight against Vekna and the evils of The Great Wheel came to a close - entreating him to a time of respite at his deity's side within the heavenly realm of Ekolu. Tidekeeper was retired and mantled within Teculor's dwelling, its crystalline temper left to twinkle in the divine light of a warm, peaceful home. Centuries passed, and Teculor was summoned once again to go out into the realms to hunt the returning darkness, but this time simply as a guide for the Champion to be. Over time, Teculor drew close to his protégé and found himself swept up in brand new adventures; the likes of which he had not experienced in nearly a thousand years.

Still, upon the mantle did the faithful Tidekeeper rest...

Until the day the darkness claimed his pupil for her own.

His calling now understood with absolute clarity the legendary warrior, Teculor Mekrish returned to Tidekeeper to lay his sturdy hands upon its nostalgic frame. Timeless memories of his allies of yore flooded through his heart like a roaring rainstorm through an endless drought. With their spirits at his side and with his destiny laid before him, he marched proudly forward into the fray to rescue his dearly beloved friend.

One last time...
