Created by cultists who worship aberrant entities, an Aberrant Sphere allows its wielder to stretch their mind into what is left of the Primordial Dark in order to summon creatures from beyond space and time at the cost of a fraction of his own sanity. A sphere has 3 charges, which are renewed after a long rest. Spending 1 or more charges causes the sphere to shatter, as it summons a particular kind of aberration, which appears anywhere within 30 feet for 7 rounds. You also take a penalty on your to Wisdom while the creature is summoned as your mind is driven slightly mad by connecting with the creature's alien mind.

The creature is friendly to you and your companions for the spell’s duration. In combat, the creature shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It obeys verbal commands that you issue to it (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any, it defends itself but otherwise takes no action.

1 charge: Summons a Carrion Crawler; -2 penalty to Wisdom.
2 charges: Summons a Grell; -3 penalty to Wisdom.
3 charges: Summons a Chuul; -4 penalty to Wisdom.

At the end of the duration (or when the creature is destroyed), the sphere re-forms in your hand (or at your feet if your hands are full) and the penalty on your wisdom disappears.
