You can use a bonus action to speak this magic sword's command word, causing flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it gains Blazing Aura, Blade Fury, and Omnislash. The flames last until you use a bonus action to speak the command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.
- Blazing Aura: Grants the wielder advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks to all creatures that can see Akakiryu and its wielder.
- Blade Fury: Whenever Akakiryu damages a living creature, it takes an additional 1d6 fire damage and must roll a Constitution saving throw (DC 15). On a failed save, Akakiryu drains one point from the creature's Dexterity score and transfers it to the wielder (increasing to a maximum of 25 Dexterity) until the next short rest or long rest. Creatures brought to 0 Dexterity by this feature are slain. Undead or Constructs are immune to this and automatically saves.
- Omnislash: If Akakiryu devours enough Dexterity from Blade Fury to bring the wielder to 25 Dexterity, then the blade shifts form into a longer, lighter blade that radiates holy light. Until the wielder's next short rest or long rest, you can use Akakiryu for Flurry of Blows and Unarmed Strikes. Flurry of Blows now deal 3 attacks instead of 2. Unarmed Strike now deal 2 attacks instead of 1. After the short/long rest, the attuned creature must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 17) or suffer 1d6 Exhaustion.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
