This adamentine coated metal gauntlet was forged by a Shadow Dancer's spiked chains that have claws that are as sharp as a sword.
Then it was blessed by a Djinni upon it's owner's, Baruka Zarek's, wish.
The claw now holds the power of Avernus in it's clenches, however it craves for blood everytime it is used.
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, the weapon ignores resistance to slashing damage. Also, whenever this weapon hits an object, the hit is a critical hit.
When you attack a creature that has at least one head with this weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, you cut off one of the creature's heads. The creature dies if it can't survive without the lost head. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage, doesn't have or need a head, has legendary actions, or the DM decides that the creature is too big for its head to be cut off with this weapon. Such a creature instead takes an extra 6d8 slashing damage from the hit.
Shadow's torment. On a hit with this weapon the target must succeed on a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw or suffer one additional effect of the wielder's choice:
- The target is grappled (escape DC 22) if it is a Large or smaller creature. Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the wielder can't grapple another target.
- The target is knocked prone.
- The target takes 33 (6d10) necrotic damage.
Minor Beneficial Properties. While attuned to the artifact, you can't be charmed or frightened and have resistance to cold damage.
Major Beneficial Property. While attuned to the artifact, you can use an action to cast Fire Storm from it. After you cast the spell, roll a d6. On a roll of 1-5, you can't cast it again until the next dawn.
Blood Offering. Before using one of the artifact's properties as an action, you must use a bonus action to draw blood, either from yourself or from a willing or incapacitated creature within your reach, using this weapon. The subject takes 1d4 damage of the appropriate type. This property is suppressed while the artifact is attuned to an archdevil or to the current ruler of Avernus.
Ruler of Avernus. As an action, you can point this sword at one devil you can see within 60 feet of you. That devil must succeed on a DC 22 Charisma saving throw or be charmed by you for 1 hour. While charmed in this way, the devil follows your orders to the best of its ability. If you command the devil to do something it perceives as suicidal, the effect ends and you can no longer use this power of the sword against that devil.
Infernal Recall. As an action, you can use the sword to cast Word of Recall. Creatures transported by this spell appear in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the current ruler of Avernus, or a sanctuary you designate if you rule Avernus.
Destroying the Artifact. The Artifact can be destroyed by casting it into the River Styx.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
