One of 4 pieces of the legendary Relinquisher, this pommel is made of a large diamond wreathed in a lodestone ring. The diamond has an ever glowing shimmer of faint rainbow light.
While attuned to the pommel, you gain resistance to necrotic damage. You also gain a +1 bonus to your spell attacks and spell save DC.
Spells. The Activated Pommel of Life and Death has 50 charges and has a 25% chance to regain 1 at dawn. While attuned to it, You learn the Chill Touch and Spare the Dying cantrips. You may also expend a number of charges to cast the following spells without material components: Revivify(3 charges), Disintegrate(6 charges). The spell save for Disintegrate is DC 17.
When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points with any of these spells, the pommel regains a number of charges equal 1 per 10 hit points of the creature's maximum there were, and you gain 2 temporary hit points for each charge regained to a maximum of 20.
Once all of the charges have been spent, it flashes with rainbow light a deals 2d6 necrotic damage to the attuned creature and permanently reduces their hit point maximum by the total. This damage cannot prevented or reduced in any way and only the Wish spell can reverse the damage. Once this damage is dealt, the pommel crumbles to dust.
If anyone but a creature suffering from the Curse of Ngornagul attempts to hold the pommel, they suffer 1d6 necrotic damage per round that they are holding it.
