Wondrously engraved, surprisingly light (for their size), dazzling silver fists wrought of a material that doesn't appear to be terrestrial in origin. When placed facing each other, they slot neatly together to form a very large oval or egg shape approximately 3 feet in length and 1½ feet in diameter.
Attunement requires one night at full moon within two days of either the summer or winter solstice, with one other entity as witness. At this time, a specific contract between the bearer, their witness, the Scales, and the moon herself must be spoken aloud.
This contract can be shortened to two main directives:
- Never, under any circumstances, break an oath.
- Take up the mantle of arbiter against those who would wrong the innocent, and ensure their judgement comes to pass.
This contract is writ in one single place: the innermost sanctum of an ancient monastery, perched precariously thousands of feet up at the very top of the world. Strangely, when observed at a time other than a solstice it slips from memory immediately, and resists being transcribed just as strongly.
Only one other individual must be present. No more or less, or the attunement will fail.
Notes: spending one night meditating and allowing the Scales to judge you at full moon within two days of either the summer or winter solstice, with one other entity as witness. At this time, a specific contract between the bearer, their witness, the fists, and the very moon herself must be spoken aloud while moonlight falls upon the Scales.
