This device is designed to take in either the Liquid or Powder version of Overcast Powder and generate a crystallized version of the material. This process is very heat intensive, making it difficult to perform in hot climates without some form of external cooling.
Whichever version of the Overcast Powder is placed into the device, a crystal form will be extracted after being processed for a single day (24 hours). This process generates a crystal that is worth 10 times the value of the material placed in originally. While each device performs slightly differently, most can process up to 20 charges of material at a time, forming each charge into its own crystal of equal worth.
This device functions under its own power by siphoning off a tiny portion of the power generated by processing the Overcast Powder itself, making it very efficient.
The device requires a DC18 Arcana check to start the device running and takes an hour to reset the device if the startup process fails. Once running, the device will complete the "batch" automatically. The device takes 48 hours to cool internally, with multiple safeguards in place that prevent anyone from activating it early.
