Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement)

This item appears to be a longsword hilt. While grasping the hilt, you can use a bonus action to cause a blade of jet black metal to swirl into existence, or make the blade disappear. While the blade exists, this magic longsword has the finesse property. If you are proficient with shortswords or longswords, you are proficient with the Agrath's Wrath.

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, which deals necrotic damage instead of slashing damage. When you hit with it, that target takes an extra 1d8 of damage upon sacrificing 2 points of self damage (if done so the metal will expand further and further up the user's body and are to follow the following chart until next long rest when it resets).

Agrath's blade (curse): Upon sacrificing blood to the sword it slowly consumes the user's body to then harness its host soul to form Agrath's sword. From 2-10 points the metal will allow the host to gain an extra 2 AC as it spreads from the finger tips up the arms. From 11-20 points it will take up the user's torso giving them resistance to slashing/bludgeoning/piercing. 21-30 the legs will be encased and host will have an additional 10 movement speed. 31-40 the head is covered in metal with one large red eye forming on the forehead the host gains an extra attack. After 40 the host's mind and body is consumed and Agrath's blade forms.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
