While holding this magical rod, when you or a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you takes lightning damage, you can use your reaction to speak the rod's command word and absorb the lightning into the rod. The triggering creature takes no lightning damage, and gains resistance to lightning damage until the end of its next turn. The rod can't be used in this way again until the next dawn.

Until the end of your next turn, you can use an action to blast one target that you can see within 120 feet with the lightning stored in the rod. You make a ranged spell attack against the target using a +8 bonus. On a hit, the target takes 8d8 lightning damage and is pushed 20 feet away from you and knocked prone.
