This armor looks ordinary in its natural state but in the blink of an eye it can grow spikes that can be deadly to any whom may try to harm the wielder. While wearing this armor when you are hit by a melee attack you may use your reaction to make spike protrude from the armor dealing 1d4 points of piercing damage to the attacker. As well, you may spend an action on your turn to keep the spikes out turning yourself into a human sized ball of spikes. While in this form when you are hit with a melee attack the attacker takes 1d4 piercing without you having to spend your reaction. Also, while in this form you many use your movement to move throw enemy spaces, any creature you move over must make a Dex saving throw DC 15. On a failed save they take 4d4 piercing damage, or half damage on a successful one. You cannot end your movement in an occupied space.
Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer's body. It does not include leg protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps.
