Armor (medium or heavy, but not hide), legendary

This armor is made out of Adamant, the raw component used to create Adamantine when alloyed with Electrum. While adamantine is strong in the sense that nullified hits that would otherwise shatter a normal being, tampering with it's raw form removes some of it's innate magical defenses- most notably it's ability to absorb fire. The trade off for this, however, is that adamant is extremely brittle, and can be shattered with the strike of a club if their aim was proper; skilled mages have made a workaround to this, however. By using rituals and drawing on the adamant's innate magic, the armor would be broken and magnetized to fit together seamlessly like a puzzle.

While wearing this armor, you gain immunity to fire damage, and resistance to acid, cold, lightning, poison, and thunder damage. When mundane flames hit you, the armor absorbs it and glows green; if magical, the armor glows purple instead: this effect lasts for 1 minute.

If you get hit with any amount of bludgeoning or piercing damage, the armor shatters, and the upset of the shards causes them to violently swirl around you, the jagged pieces rending anyone in your path before reforming at the start of your next turn. Until the start of your next turn, if a creature is in a space within 5ft of you, they must make a dexterity saving throw equal to the AC provided by the armor or take 1d10 slashing damage, receiving half on a successful save. If the armor was charged with fire damage, it deals an additional 1d12 fire damage alongside the slashing damage. While your armor is shattered, you lose the AC the armor gives you until the start of your next turn.

This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
