Amulet of Conflict

This item is imbued with powerful and chaotic fey energy and appears as a gold chain with a diamond shaped charm. The charm itself is divided in half. One half is made of a red gem; the other half is a brilliant blue gem.

When a creature that is wearing this amulet is seen by another creature, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw DC 17. On a failure, the DM or the wearer should roll a d6 and the target that failed the saving throw should call either even or odd.

If the call lines up with the number on the d6 (i.e. if the target calls Even and a 4 is rolled on the d6) the target is charmed and will feel a sudden need to protect the creature wearing the item from harm. If someone tries to harm the creature, they will be willing to physically stop or even kill the attacker of the wearer.

If the call does NOT line up with the number on the d6 (i.e. if the target calls Even and a 3 is rolled on the d6) the target is charmed and becomes enraged by the wearer. They are filled with anger and can think of nothing but killing the wearer of the amulet. If someone tries to stop them, they will be willing to physically move or even attack the defender of the wearer.

Regardless of which charm is imposed, the effect will continue until either the effect is dispelled, the curse is ended, or the creature wearing the amulet is killed. The item is also cursed. If a creature intentionally wears the amulet, or the creature consensually allows another creature to place the amulet on them, the amulet bonds to the skin and cannot be taken off until the creature dies or the curse is ended (via the Remove Curse spell, Greater Restoration, etc.)

Finally, if a creature that sees the wearer of the amulet passes their saving throw, they are immune to the effects of the amulet until the amulet is adorned upon a different creature.
