Casting Identify on the gem reveals it as a Memory Gem.
The clockwork orb falls to pieces after opening and cannot be sold. Collectors may wish to purchase the clockwork orb from you if it is still intact (valued as an ancient artifact at 500GP), otherwise it as no true monetary value and cannot be sold.
