This armor has been specially forged and enchanted by great Merfolk smiths to have greatly increased performance underwater.
While not submerged, this armor functions as a normal set of Plate armor, albeit slightly lighter than normal.
While fully submerged, the wearer attuned to this armor gains the following benefits.
- +1 to AC
- The weight of the armor does not count against the encumbrance of the creature.
- The creature's swim speed and Strength (Athletics) checks made to swim are unaffected by the armor.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
Notes: by a sentient creature, Movement, Utility, Combat, Warding, Str. 15 Required, Stealth Disadvantage
