A lone warrior in a cloak steps In front of the besieged town, the invading forces of goblins, hobgoblins, and various horrid war beasts. pulling back the hood of the cloak reveals a woman of scarlet hair, raising her left arm to boast a blackened metal gauntlet. in her other hand a simple sword of no distinct origin, raising it to the vile horde in defiance. an eruption of laughter booms from the force before her, she smirks and focuses on the gauntlet. then in a swift movement she charges the horde, a bright flash of orange embers erupts from her as where was once a woman now stands a armored being of untold danger. when the sun sets and the scarlet haired woman walks back into town a scared battle rests behind her.
The Armor of the Dreadnought can be found in one of the deepest pits of the abyss, guarded by the dead Demon prince that lost its soul in the forging of the armor. trapped in a field of raw energy is a black metal gauntlet with a series of orange orbs inbedded in it.
The gauntlet requires souls to use, the stronger the soul the longer and more powerful the armor, any creature with a soul that is slain by the Wielder of the armor is now trapped inside the orbs on the gauntlet, to be used as a power source
A soul of a creature with a challenge rating of 1 provides 1 minute of energy to the armor, this rule is applied to all Cr ratings. for simplification 1 minute is 1 unit of energy
Souls of particularly powerful creatures can be used to create permanent enhancements to the armor. for instance killing a Phoenix would allow the wearer to revive by paying Half the Phoenix's CR in energy per revival.
the armor has 2 starting enhancements
by spending 5 units of energy they can increase their armor class by 1 for a minute
By spending 3 units of energy they can increase their damage by 1 dice for an attack
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
