It is unclear whether highly skilled mages made this crossbow, or whether it was forged by Apollo, or a god of combat; however, the Light Seeker is a crossbow that has the capability to turn anyone worthy enough to wield it into a skilled marksman. The light crossbow is composed of blazing orange wood, white metallic intricacies, and burning red arcane runes that are etched into the wood. It can also change its shape to adjust to the size of whomever is attuned to it to allow for a more comfortable hold; nevertheless, this weapon is a masterpiece in both craft and combat. It also has possesses the interesting ability to grow in power as the wielded does.
At 1st Level:
- You gain proficiency with a light crossbow if you do not already have it.
- You gain all of the effects of the Crossbow Expert feat, but only when using this light crossbow.
- Light Seeker:
- Once per turn, you can expend one charge and cause an attack roll made with the Light Seeker to automatically hit.
At 5th Level:
Your strange bond with the Light Seeker grows, and so does the weapon.
- Apollo’s Journey:
- Once per turn you can expend one charge and cause one of the crossbow bolts fired from the Light Seeker to become a burning bolt of fire. The bolt deals an additional d4 of fire damage. You must declare you are using this before you know the result of the attack roll.
At 11th Level:
The crossbow again reacts to your noticeable growth in strength and evolves.
- You are now able to fire two crossbow bolts as apart of the same attack action. Roll two separate attack rolls for each bolt.
- Apollo’s Journey:
- The additional damage now increases to a d6.
At 17th Level:
The Light Seeker has reached its final, perfected version.
- You are now able to fire three crossbow bolts as apart of the same attack action. Make three separate attack rolls for each bolt.
- Apollo’s Journey:
- The additional damage increases to 2d4.
Apollo’s Chariot has 8 charges that reset after a short or long rest. If you are targeted by dispel magic, treat this as a 5th level spell. If dispelled the crossbow acts as a normal crossbow until 4 rounds have passed.
Proficiency with a Light Crossbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
