What was once thought of as an ancient magic spear, you now know to be an ancient magic trident. This light trident is made with a cerulean damascus patterned metal. Along the shaft are engraved reliefs of crashing waves, and oceanic clouds. Below a long flamberge-like blade is a wide curved guard, with slots carved into the top of each side. Magical weapons are known to be resistant to aging; this weapon is encrusted with barnacles and salt. As such, this weapon is beyond ancient. You have mastered this ancient weapon, and as such, it has chosen to reveal all of its secrets to you. This weapon is pristine, and all of the wear from remaining under the sea is gone.
You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
This weapon has 3 charges, that reset after a long rest.
After throwing this magic trident, you may expend 1 charge to teleport to the thrown location. Shunted through the plane of water, you appear at the target location in a splash of water, and catch the trident. In combat, you may substitute a thrown weapon attack to teleport behind the enemy and make a single melee attack. If the target is engaged with another creature, you gain advantage on this attack.
After spending time with this weapon, you have discovered some of it's secrets. You may empower this weapon with your arcane abilities. Using a bonus action, you may use a spell slot to imbue this magical trident with your spells, activating the two arcane blades out of the guard of the weapon. After doing so, the engravings along the shaft and guard alight with a teal energy, and two blades of water erupt from the slots in the guard. For 1 minute this weapon does an additional 1d6 cold damage per level of the spell slot expended to empower this weapon.
You have bonded with this weapon, and your familiarity with it has added bonus boons.
This weapon was created by a collaboration between the god Poseidon and his son, Aliosos. As such, it holds considerable dominion over the Sea:
While attuned to this weapon, your swimming speed increases by 30 ft.
While completely underwater, this weapon regains charges every minute.
You gain the ability to breathe underwater.
The range of this weapon triples while underwater.
Proficiency with a Trident allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
