Ring, uncommon (requires attunement by a spellcaster that can use an arcane focus for their spellcasting)

This silver ring features lines of blue sapphire that form numerous small glyphs around the ring both outside and inside. These lines glow softly while the ring is worn by the spellcaster it is attuned to. The ring offers no benefit of any kind to anyone who wears the ring when not attuned to it.

The ring acts as an arcane focus which allows you to ignore material components for spells if they do not have a cost.

The ring has 20 charges. When the spellcaster, attuned to this ring, casts a spell that requires a material component with a cost they can choose to use this ring and ignore the cost value by an amount equal to or less than ten times the number of remainining charges the ring has. For example if the ring has 20 charges they can reduce the cost of the material components by up to 200 gp (20 x 10 = 200). If the spell indicates the material component is consumed by the spell then the appropriate number of charges will be expended with each charge expended removing 10 gp from the cost: for example if a material component had a cost of 15 gp and was consumed by the spell the spellcaster can use 2 charges of this ring instead of supplying the component.

If the component being replaced by this ring's magic is integral to the function of the spell then the magic of the ring creates that component which lasts only as long as is needed: if the spell ends or is dispelled or is removed or ended by any means the created component disappears. A component so created can only be used for the spell it was created for. It will also disappear if it is destroyed or broken.

All expended charges are recovered at dawn.
