Danger passed for the moment. Melia rushed to her comrades and with a quick assessment she said, "I have enough healing to get our fighters battle ready but I'm afraid the wizard will have to wait."
Apportioning Symbol
Abilities-
- Stores Healing- Healing spells cast into the Symbol are stored as hit points. The amount stored is the same as if the spell was used in the normal way. For example, if "Cure Wounds" is cast it would store "1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier". The Symbol can hold as much healing as the attuned character can cast for that day. Resets when the character's spells would reset, such as after a long rest.
- Assesses Wounds- When the healer is within 5 feet of the target the Symbol can tell how much healing one needs. For example, the Symbol knows one injured character needs 11 hit points and another needs 23 to be back to full health. The Symbol can then give the right amount of healing to each. If not enough hit points are stored the caster chooses who gets how much of the remaining.
- Temporary Hit Points- The Symbol can give up to 10 temporary hit points to any character(s) the caster chooses. However, each temporary hit point given costs 2 hit points out of the Symbol's storage.
- Heal at a Distance- Like "Healing Word" the Symbol can work at a distance of up to 60 feet. When used this way the Symbol doesn't know how much healing the target needs. As a bonus action the Symbol heals the target for 10 points out of it's storage. If the character only needs 6 points then 4 are lost. (Preferably no cross talk between characters).
History-
The Symbol was created by a fellowship of long forgotten lesser gods. They were all of Good alignment of varying degree. The Symbol was designed to be a boon for all characters of Good alignment regardless of the individual god they worship. When found the Symbol will appear to be a palm sized silver magical orb. When attuned by a cleric (or other healer per DM) the Symbol will actually take a shape preferable to the character and his or her deity OR it will meld with the player's current holy symbol. Only spells that confer hit points are able to be cast into the Symbol.
