An aquamarine of spell extending is an enchanted aquamarine gem mounted within an hourglass made of gold and silver.
Once per day, the wielder of the aquamarine could extend the duration of any of the spells they cast, of 6 level or lower. Those who did not prepare their spells the day before they were cast had to take extra time casting for this to take effect.
