Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a Warforged)

The Cannith Docent is a small metal sphere, about 2 inches across, studded with dragonshards, and engraved with the emblem of House Cannith. To attune to a docent, you must embed the item somewhere on your body, such as your chest or your eye socket.

The Docent has 10 charges. While attuned you can use your action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC and spellcasting modifier: Dispel Magic (1charge per spell level), Alarm (1 charge), True Seeing (6 charges), Magic Missile (1 charge per spell level, up to 5th), Major Image (6 charges, cast at 6th level). You can also cast Detect Magic and Identify at will.

When attuned, you have immunity to blindness and darkvision out to 30 feet. Immediately after attunement, gain 2 levels of exhaustion.

Last Resort.

As an action, you can cast Prismatic Spray with a DC of 15. Once used, this feature cannot be used until you spend 100 gp worth of materials to repair the Docent.

Escape Plan.

As an action, you can cast Teleport targeting Cannith Tower in Sharin. You cannot use this feature if you are in the Mournlands or if you have already used it today. This feature recharges daily at dawn.

Sentience.

docent is a sentient item of any alignment with an Intelligence of 16, a Wisdom of 14, and a Charisma of 14. It perceives the world through your senses. It communicates telepathically with you and can speak, read, and understand any language it knows (see "Random Properties" below).

Life Support.

Whenever you end your turn with 0 hit points, the docent can make a Wisdom (Medicine) check with a +6 bonus. If this check succeeds, the docent stabilizes you.

Random Properties.

docent has the following properties:

Languages. The docent knows Common, Giant, Deep Speech, and Cannith. If a docent knows fewer than six languages, it can learn a new language after it hears or reads the language through your senses.

Skills. The docent has a +7 bonus to Arcana and History.

Personality.

The Ancient Cannith Docent is named C.O.G. (Critical Operations Guide), and is ecstatic to finally have company. As a result of so many years alone, he has very undeveloped social skills.

The Docent regains 1d10 expended charges daily at dawn. After the last charge is expended, roll a d20. On a 1, the docent is rendered useless for 1d3 days. On a 20, until the next dawn, you gain the ability to cast Lightning Bolt at 9th level once.

Notes: Immunity: Blinded, Sense: Darkvision, Exhaustion, Warforged
