Weapon (greataxe), rare (requires attunement)

This magic weapon acts as a +2 Great Axe. You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While attuned to this magic weapon, you gain the following benefits:

  • ASPECT OF THE DEEP.
    • You can stand on and walk across liquid surfaces as if they were solid ground.
    • You can breathe underwater and have a swimming speed equal to your walking speed
  • VOICE OF THE DEEP.
    • You can speak and understand Aquan
    • You know the Shape Water cantrip, and can cast the following spells from this magic weapon: create or destroy water (1 charge), control water (3 charges), ice storm (2 charges), or wall of ice (3 charges)
  • CURSE. Upon picking up the Anchor, you begin to hear a multitude of voices in despair. The voices beg for mercy and salvation. Upon attuning to the Anchor, the curse is extended to you. As long as you remain cursed, you are unwilling to part with the axe, keeping it within reach at all times. You also have disadvantage on attack rolls with weapons other than this one, unless no foe is within 60 feet of you that you can see or hear.
Any death saving throws made while attuned to this weapon are made at disadvantage, regardless of any other benefits that say other wise. If a creature dies while attuned to this weapon their soul is immediately claimed by The Deep, a Demi-Plane that exists within the anchor itself, and the Anchor disappears. A soul remains trapped in this way until rescued by a living creature. A wish spell can't restore your soul, but the spell can reveal the location of the object that holds it

Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
