While attuned to this item, choose one type of armor. As an action you can conjure a full suit of magical armor of that type around you as if you were wearing it. You are proficient with this armor regardless of its type. The armor has an additional +1 bonus to AC and lasts until you dismiss it as an action, are knocked unconscious, or it is dispelled by magic such as the Dispel Magic spell.
*DnD Beyond note: This is meant to be a wondrous item that is worn as a pair of bracelets to summon a spectral set of armor that does not require proficiency to be used. Because of the limitations with how setting AC only seems to work with armor, I have created this as an actual set of armor as its item type so that it works correctly with the site and its calculations. The base AC of the armor is applied while wearing it, though the intent is that its effect is only applied while attuned and the armor is activated.*
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
