Wondrous Item, uncommon

Flip a coin, if it lands on heads, use it as a nat-20, it on tails, use it as a nat-1. If rolling a dice, even numbers are a nat-20 and odd numbers are a nat-1.

In the campaign, the coin is described as a golden coin with unknown runes along the edges of each face. The coin seems much lighter than an ordinary gold coin and when flipped, emits golden sparks of light. If it lands on heads, gold sparks and a poof of white smoke appear as the coin disappears and reappears in the players' inventory. If it lands on tails, red sparks appear instead of gold, and black smoke instead of white smoke appears. The coin still teleports back into the players' inventory. Attempting to flip the coin a third time will result in the coin landing on its side before returning to the players' inventory. Trying to force the coin to have a certain output (heads or tails) will result in the player taking 1d4 psychic damage before returning to the players' inventory.

On the coin, heads is depicted as a shield with 2 spears crossing it, while tails is depicted with a skull.

When the charges are recharged, the coin glows with a dim white light highlighting the runes before dimming out.

Notes: When flipping the coin, the user is immune to all types of damage and if anything tries to hurt the user, a gold sphere of light blocks the attack. (The original idea was made by "betacela" - I just made my own changes to it.)
