The glaive is a full 8 and a half feet long from base of the haft to the tip of the blade, with the haft being 7 feet long, and a tapered blade eighteen inches in length. The blades edge itself is smooth, shaped as a knife, and the metal has a deep ivyleaf inset design, with a small hook on the reverse side to catch riders. The runes along the edge of the blade glow when their powers are active or used with a flash of golden light. The upper haft of the pole is wrapped with manticore leather, and there are 3 feathers from a Griffon that are secured to the base of the blade with leather from a green dragon hide. Green dragon scales also provide protection to the base of the blade and the socket where it attaches to the pole. The pole is carved with elven runes along it's length, bearing the names and deeds of each of the blades bearers.
