Wondrous Item, common
Did you know that the average Corsairen wastes 45 minutes per day walking around rivers throughout the city? That's 7.5 hours per 10-day, 45 hours per season, or 270 hours per year! Wouldn't you love to have 11 extra days back in your year that weren't spent meandering around the city trying to get to where you're going? Well, great news, now you can! The accordion bridge allows Corsair's brightest to merely stand at one edge of the river, take out their accordion bridge and crank it across the water until you hit the other side and then cross it directly. Simply wind it back up one you get to the other side and put it on your back and you're ready to go!

The accordion bridge is a ladder-like bridge that is about two feet across and can stretch up to 40 feet long (I presume this is long enough to cross most of the rivers in Corsair, let me know if not.) The planks are made of wood while the framing is thin, but sturdy metal. When the entirety of the bridge is bunched up it's heavy enough that it is much more convenient to carry it around via the leather backpack straps on it. There are two hand cranks on either side, when the bridge is put down on one edge of the river the user begins turning the hand crank which starts unfolding the bridge until it reaches the opposite side of the river. After crossing, the user should use the other hand crank that is now on the end of the bridge on the opposite side of the river to retract the bridge and fold it back up.
User Care: The accordion bridge relies on the metal tracks to be well kept and well oiled. Users should immediately dry off the bridge if it gets wet, and do not leave it outside or it risks corrosion. Additionally, users should oil the tracks at least once per season with the provided oil.
