This book details a wide variety of advanced Abjuration spells and enchantments, as well as known variations and examples of historical and theoretical uses. There are small but thorough sections dedicated to a few specific spells, including Alarm, Arcane Lock, Private Sanctum, Forbiddance, Guards and Wards, and Prismatic Wall.
Careful study of this book will attune you to it and grant you an increased understanding of Abjuration magic. Up to three times per long rest while attuned to the book, you have advantage on rolls pertaining to Abjuration. This includes circumstances such as:
- Ability checks using your spellcasting ability for an Abjuration spell (e.g. Dispel Magic)
- Saving throws against Abjuration spells (e.g. the Charisma saving throw required when targeted by Banishment)
- Detecting hidden Abjuration magic (e.g. an Investigation check that could detect a Symbol)
