Appears as a black oak, long bow. The string is reinforced shadow silk woven around a thin mithril wire resulting in a more taunt bow that requires a 15 Strength to use but increasing the range of the bow (300/750).
After killing its first enemy and judging its user worthy, the bow is incased in a wispy white mist as the black coating flakes away revealing a white ivory bow with gold gilding on the grip. A small 5 pointed star onyx rests above the arrow rest facing outward. Both limbs are adorn with ancient runes.
Pulling back on the string causes wings of soul fire to spread from each side point of the star onyx providing a +2 to hit. Releasing an arrow, the wings wrap the shaft of the arrow in soul fire causing it to deal either the standard 1d8 piercing or 1d10 psychic/fire (soul fire) damage.
Evolutions (dm can rule how the bow evolves): Attack types become unlocked as the bow grows in strength. 1 can be used per turn, and must be declared before an attack is rolled.
Rare: unlocks Empowered Shot. Damage is increased to 2d6+5 physic/fire (soul fire) or 2d8 piercing damage.
Very Rare: unlocks Multi shot: fire 1d4 + 1 shots this round.
Legendary: unlocks Aura Shot: does normal damage and additional 2d8 + 5 psychic/fire damage (soul fire) in a 10ft radius, all creatures in the affected area make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw for half damage. Phoenix Shot: The arrow turns into a small phoenix and flies with the grace of a bird towards the target. Provides advantage on the attack and can turn up to 90 degrees once during flight. The target is healed equal to the damage dealt.
