Auriel, Longbow of the Fallen Angel
Buried in a long forgotten chamber of Baldurs Gate's sewage system lies Auriel an obsidian bow carved with faces of the damned, inlaid with shards of ruby, possessed by the last vestige of the soul of a fallen angel, with almost no memory of its past and only the urge to consume souls.
Auriel has the following magical properties.
Attunement
Auriel may choose to attune to any creature that touches it.
It will only attune to Good creatures, despite the fact that it is inhabited by the soul of a fallen angel and is therefore Evil.
Arrows of Auriel
Auriel does not require ammunition.
Upon making an attack roll, an arrow of pure energy will manifest itself, dealing 1d8 damage, as detailed under Soul Parasite.

While Vestigial, Auriel will demand its wielder kill any Celestial creatures that are visible to it, if its wielder refuses, they must make a DC 17 Charisma Saving Throw or be charmed by Auriel into obeying.
While Empowered, Auriel will resist attempts from its wielder to kill any Celestial creatures that are visible to it, if its wielder attempts to do so, it will make a Charisma Saving Throw with a DC of 12 + its wielders Charisma bonus.
On a success Auriel will not function as a bow, and any attack rolls will either miss, guided by Auriel's soul, or fail to create an arrow.
While Awakened, Auriel will not attack any creatures with Celestial creature, and will fail to make an arrow if its wielder attempts to do so.
Devour Soul
Whenever you use it to reduce a creature to 0 hit points, the sword slays the creature devours its soul, unless it is a construct, undead, or otherwise does not have a soul over which it can claim ownership.
Whenever you fail a death saving throw, you must make another death saving throw.
If you fail both of these, Auriel devours your soul.
A creature whose soul has been devoured by Auriel cannot be restored to life by anything other than wish spell until Auriel is broken, or Auriel themself is released from the bow.
When Auriel devours a soul, it grants +1 on the next attack roll you make against any creature before the end of your next run, in addition to any other bonuses provided by Auriel.
Sentience.
Auriel is a sentient Neutral Evil weapon with an Intelligence of 18, a Wisdom of 14, and a Charisma of 20.
It has hearing out to a range of 120 feet and shares vision with the creature it is attuned to.
While you are attuned to it, the weapon can speak, read, and understand every language you know, and can communicate with its wielder telepathically.
Personality.
Auriel is the soul of a fallen angel who was defeated in battle, then trapped inside a bow made from obsidian.
It is sustained from the souls of those it devours.
Auriel's personality changes based on how many souls it has devoured.
Vestigial Soul
Auriel speaks with an desperate, jealous tone when discovered, after half a century of neglect, starving for souls and will suggest killing any creature that its wielder sees.
Auriel will refer to itself as a collective with its wielder.
Hungering Soul
Auriel speaks with a questioning tone, and will attempt to guide you towards situations resulting in conflict to feed its desire for more souls, however it will no longer suggest killing every creature it sees.
Auriel will refer to itself as a collective with its wielder.
Empowered Soul
Auriel speaks with a commanding tone, however will no longer suggest overtly Evil actions, changing its alignment to True Neutral.
Auriel will refer to itself as an individual, separate to its wielder, and may suggest courses of action.
By this point, Auriel will have regained some of its memories from its previous life, enough to give it the urge to collect more souls.
Awakened Soul
Auriel speaks with a bright, commanding tone, befitting an angel.
While Awakened, Auriel will not attack any Celestial creature, any attempt to do so will either result in its wielder missing, their arrow guided by Auriel's soul away from its target.
Auriel regains all of its memories from before it was trapped in the bow, and will now work with its wielder to attempt to free itself from the bow.
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
