Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

When using their wildshape feature, the attuned druid may choose one valid creature of a lower CR than the beast they're attempting to turn into. They may then choose a number of properties up to or equal to their proficiency bonus of the lower CR creature to replace those of the creature they're turning into. Upon transformation, the druid appears to be a standard version of the creature, save for the changes appropriate for the creature to utilise the new properties given to it (unless these inhibit pre-existing properties that do not want to be replaced). This feature may be used once per short or long rest.

Traits that can be changed include: the physical statistics of a creature, a creatures proficiency in a skill, their senses, the ability to speak a language, any of their traits, any of their attacks (the physical statistics of the eventual combination is used for the attack and damage roll but any proficiencies are included). Multiattack is also able to be carried over as long as all of the attacks it references are also.

For example, a druid may attempt to transform into a Giant Elk with certain properties of a Dire Wolf, such as their proficiency in Stealth, Keen Hearing and Smell trait, Pack Tactics trait or their Bite attack. If the druid chose the latter 3, then the Giant Elk would have a canine-like head, but with the antlers for the Ram attack coming from the top.
